My first ever Nendo Petites courtesy of Akihabaka! Obtainable only at Circle K/SUNKUS konbini or Tokimeki Mall, this set was released to commemorate the new year of 2009.
I’ll be review each figure by itself. First is Kona-chan! She holds an ema in her right hand. The wooden wishing board fits right into a hidden groove in her palm. Sometimes, it drops out when you slightly move her. Her arm that holds the ema is also very weak and drops out a lot. =_= But, there is nice detail and a very cute yellow ribbon tying her hair together (not pictured). I love her ahoge!!!
Next is the older Hiiragi twins, Kagamin! Kagami is holding a gohei with two white shide on it. Her twintails move and seeing her in a classic miko costume makes her even cuter.
The younger of the Hiiragi twins, Tsukasa, hates me. Or rather, her stand does. It will not cooperate with me whatsoever. (Then again, a lot of stands hate me.) Any slight movement causes her to fall out of the stand. Her usual yellow ribbon is now red, matching her miko outfit nicely. Her little broom is insanely cute as well.
Last but not least is your stereotypical moe meganekko, Takara Miyuki. Miyuki’s hair is tied back with a red ribbon as well (making Konata the only outsider). Her glasses may be able to be taken off, but for fear of breaking them, I don’t really want to try. There are grooves similar to the ones on the hair piece of Nendo Nagato.
Overall, the paint job of everybody is terrific. The stands were hard to get in at first, but will hold up Miyuki and Konata perfectly. Kagamin might be a little lopsided due to the extra weight of the twintails and Tsukasa’s stand is just plain evil. I also think the design of the box is great. Nice and simple. GSC was nice enough to put in a little paper craft for you to build a shrine (Washinomiya) for the maidens to work at!
