A few months ago, April 30th to be exact, the new “Append” for Hatsune Miku was released. Along with a new set of voice options, came new art for her. (images taken from notcliche.com)

After the new Miku, came the release of Vocaloid Lily, based on the voice of Masuda Yuuri from m.o.v.e. on August 25th. She certainly sounds a lot like Luka.

After Lily was the release of VY1 aka Mizuki on September 1st. VY1 is listed as unisex but many fan artists portray VY1 as a female. (image from sgcafe.com)

Next was Gachapoid in October. He was released as another male Vocaloid in addition to the plethora of females. Gachapoid is also based on the franchise Hirake! Ponkikki. He is modeled after the character Gachapin.
Nekomura Iroha is another franchise based Vocaloid released. This time she is based on the famous Hello Kitty! She was released in October as well, about two weeks later than Gachapoid.

The most recently released, just a week ago on the 8th actually, is Utane Piko. He is based on the singer Piko from NicoNicoDouga himself! I like his voice the most out of all the new Vocaloids released this year.

The new Append for Kagamine Rin and Len will be released 2 days after Christmas and their character designs just came out. I think they are much better than the previous designs and give the twins a more mature look too!

VY2 is also confirmed to have a release later on this year, being based as more “masculine” as VY1 was more feminine. However, VY2 will still be considered unisex.
Hatsune Miku is also in the process of getting an English release!
